Stainless Steel 446 Angle maintains nearly constant dimensions over the range of normal atmospheric temperatures, and has a low coefficient of expansion from cryogenic temperatures to about 500 Degree F. Stainless Steel 446 C-Channel also retains good strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures. Stainless Steel 446 H-Beam can be hot and cold formed and machined using processes similar to austenitic stainless steels. Stainless Steel 446 I-Beam is weldable using Filler Metal which is available in bare wire for both the GTAW and GMAW process. Stainless Steel 446 T-Beam has an exceptional ability to withstand the repeated thermal shock of oil or water quenching. Stainless Steel 446 Chain is one of the few materials that can withstand corrosive conditions ranging from aqueous to white heat. Upon shutdown, 446 Stainless Steel Angle resists dew point corrosion by sulphuric acid and polythionic acid stress corrosion cracking. Do not preheat this 446 Stainless Steel Chain, keep inter – pass temperature below 212 Degree F and use reinforced stringer beads. Because of this ability, 446 Stainless Steel C-Channel has been the choice for all types of applications that require heavily carburizing atmospheres. Fabrications of 446 Stainless Steel H-Beam including radiant tubes, corrugated boxes and furnace belt pins has all been made from to withstand the high carbon potentials within these atmospheres.
